8 augustus 2008 - Russische troepen trekken Georgië binnen. Het is de eerste keer sinds 1979 (Afghanistan) dat de Russen een land binnenvallen. De wereld is verbijsterd. De timing geniaal: de opening van de olympische spelen. Het werpt een schaduw over een dag die zo mooi had moeten worden. De Duitse tv-zender ARD opent glashelder: 'Kriek im Kaukasus'.
